A. Paul Seck

Since joining MVVA in 1996, Paul has gained experience in every stage of making landscapes, leading some of the firm’s most complex projects as well as its smallest gardens and plazas. He is known for his exceptional ability to integrate design and project management across all his work. Paul became MVVA’s Chief Operating Officer in 2017, overseeing day-to-day operations of the firm while administering staff and guiding job development. One of his primary roles includes providing feedback and strategic guidance for numerous projects throughout the design process.

Paul’s love of design and skill as an administrator are complemented by a passion for building landscapes with complex environmental challenges, especially those on sites impacted by rising sea levels. He is widely recognized as a leader in forging landscape solutions for climate resilience, particularly in the treatment of surface water and stormwater management. Paul was a 2003 Fellow in Landscape Architecture at the American Academy in Rome, and he earned his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture as well as City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University.
