Melody’s designs merge site analysis and research with her skills in drafting, representation, and planting design. Driven by site specificity and material expression, she has prepared design studies, construction documentation, and visualizations at every phase of design.

Melody received a Master of Landscape Architecture with distinction from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, where her co-authored thesis explored the role of wild rice as a catalyst for increased indigenous sovereignty in the St. Louis River Estuary in Duluth, Minnesota. At Harvard, she received the Jacob Weidenmann Prize and the Landscape Architecture Thesis Prize. Melody earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Biology from Cornell University. She joined MVVA in 2019.
