Matthew Girard
Associate Principal

Matthew specializes in the use of plants to create experiences of landscape from the expansive to the intimate. His work ranges in scale from campus master plans and capital projects to small residential gardens. Matthew enjoys working collaboratively with clients at every stage of design. Through his varied project work, he has learned to build productive relationships with individual clients as well as complex networks of committees and stakeholder groups.

Matthew received a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, where he is a guest lecturer. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Biology from Dartmouth College. Matthew joined MVVA in 2010.
