Mark Hirschbeck
Senior Associate II
An expert in project management and site design, Mark Hirschbeck contributes across MVVA’s park, campus, and urban landscapes, guiding projects from concept through construction. His recent work includes Peter’s Glen at Colgate University and the Pier 1 bosque and entry landscape at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Across all scales, he collaborates with project teams to translate design intent into built landscapes, thoughtfully addressing site topography, materiality, and program while integrating carefully composed planting and stormwater strategies. Within MVVA, he mentors staff and supports professional development, helping cultivate a collaborative studio culture and sharing knowledge in plant selection, materials, and construction practices.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Distinction in Research for his thesis, and has been an active design critic at Cornell University since 2017. Mark joined MVVA in 2017.
