
Joey Troia
Designer
Raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, Joey is interested in the cultural-political dimensions of landscape architecture. He is skilled in producing hand sketches and building physical models to serve concept development at MVVA.
Joey earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech, where his thesis work addressed landscapes of production, exploring the relationship between the city of Savannah, Georgia and its industrial harbor. He was awarded a Virginia ASLA Scholarship for Excellence in the Study of Landscape Architecture and a Faculty Book Award. Before he joined MVVA in 2022, Joey worked at the Community Design Assistance Center in Blacksburg, Virginia.
