Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Cheryl grew up in an environment with a deeply ingrained car culture, and a resulting urban landscape catered towards the high velocity experience. Through these influences and prior experience in civil engineering roles, she is interested in the value of landscape architecture in restoring urban livability and the intersection of built infrastructure with human-scale design.

Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University where she received the Landscape Forms Scholarship in Memory of Peter Lindsay Schaudt, Marvin Adleman Internship Award, and the Landezine International Landscape Portfolio Award Shortlist. She joined MVVA in 2025.
