Casey Oberto is a Senior Designer at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, where he specializes in grading, terrain modeling, and geospatial analysis for large-scale public projects at the intersection of flood protection, river restoration, and urban open space. He contributes across planning and technical design phases, translating design intent into coordinated drawing sets and working closely with consultants to advance complex, multidisciplinary work. During construction, he has collaborated with contractors to resolve field conditions and refine designs for implementation.

Raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, Casey developed an early interest in watershed restoration and wildfire dynamics continues to inform his approach to landscape systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Colorado State University, where he received a Student ASLA Merit Award. Prior to joining MVVA in 2022, he worked at StudioPlaats Landscape Architecture.
