Billy Gossett
Senior Designer

Billy is originally from South Salem, NY. Growing up, he worked alongside his father on their family landscape nursery in New York, which specializes in large tree transplanting. His passion for landscape architecture emerged after developing an immense appreciation for how large trees can dramatically transform the landscape and built environment, and how design ties it together. Throughout his life, he has played an active role in job coordination, landscape installations, plant sourcing, excavation, material processing & tree moving efforts. In addition, he also has experience integrating drone surveying and photography with project inventory.

Billy received an Associate Degree in Landscape Development at the State University of New York in Cobleskill. He continued his studies at Cornell University, where he earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and received the 2019 ASLA Student Honor Award. In addition, he furnished the winning design for the 1967 Residential Club Dormitory Fire Memorial constructed afront Cornell’s Sage Chapel in 2019. Prior to joining MVVA in 2022, Billy worked as a project manager for Wesley Stout Associates in New Canaan, CT.
